Squeezing in a Workout Before Work, Even When Your Schedule is Tight
Working Out Before Work
You know that exercise is a great way to start the day, but it can be tough to fit time for a workout into your busy schedule. Struggling to fit in workout before or after work? These are some suggestions for how to free up more time in the morning, along with exercise routines that will make you look forward to getting out of bed everyday.
Pre Workout Before Work (Tips/ Strategies)

Tips for Morning Workout Sessions:
1. Do High Intensity Interval Training.
This is the easiest way to get a workout before going to work. The best part about it too is that it’s really quick and incredibly effective. High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) is also known as Burst Training. See more here: Burst Training for Maximum Weight Loss.
2. Visit the gym.
Become an early bird at your gym. It’s often less crowded during this time. The people who are there also tend to be more dedicated, so it may rub off on you.
3. Work out at home.
You can stay fit without a gym membership. Turn on the TV or put in a DVD. Jump rope or use a stairs machine. An incredibly effective at-home workout is High Intensity Interval Training. And, it’s short!
3. Clean house.
One or two days a week, whittle your waistline while you’re taking care of your house and yard. That’s keeping fit naturally and hitting two birds with one stone!
4. Sign up for an exercise class.
Making it to exercise group or class on time gives you an extra incentive to be prompt. Check the morning schedule at your local yoga studio. Libraries and community centers also often offer programs at little or no cost.
Tips for Freeing Up More Time in the Morning to Exercise:
1. Sleep well.
If you wake up tired every morning, you probably need to get more good quality sleep each night. Stick to a consistent bedtime and turn off the TV and computer at least an hour before you retire. Figure out how to get the deepest and most restorative sleep possible. You’ll do everything faster in the morning when you feel fully alert after a good night’s sleep.
2. Take a single shower.
Skip the shower until after you exercise rather than washing up twice. Likewise if you shower twice a day, skip to only once immediately after you exercise to save time overall in your schedule. As a bonus, you’ll waste less water and help avoid dry skin.
3. Simplify your look.
To save time, talk with your hairdresser about getting a hairstyle that requires little daily maintenance. Limit the number of beauty products you use, especially makeup. Use high quality facial wash and wash and moisturize twice a day to keep your skin looking fresh so you can cut the makeup from your daily routine.
4. Store workout gear in one place.
You’ll always know where your bicycle helmet is if you keep it by the front door. Keep your gym bag packed and in your car trunk so you’re always ready to go. Likewise, if you work out at home, designate an area to exercise, and keep it prepped for your daily morning workout.
5. Lay out your clothes the night before.
Stop wondering what to wear in the morning. Get your outfit ready before you go to bed. It’s less stressful for your morning and frees up that time so you can exercise.
6. Eat at work.
It’s nice if you can sit down for breakfast in the morning, but sometimes you need to eat on the go and if it means you get a workout in, then it might be worth it. Try a yogurt drink or a protein shake you can consume easily at the office or during your commute or even better, at home, but in less time than your traditional breakfast.
7. Enlist family support.
It’s always easier to make positive life changes when you have the support of your loved ones. Ask your kids and/or spouse to take on more tasks to help you for getting ready for school. It will also help them to become more responsible.
Daily exercise can help you lead a longer and healthier life. So put physical activity first on your morning schedule. You’ll feel more energetic all day long, so squeeze in a workout before work starting today.
